Re: OCTOBER 2018 - First Fall Cold Front/Cool & Damp WX
The coldest anomalies with this front appear to be west of our area. The further east you go, probably the less of an impact you’ll have. There’s over a 10 degree difference between Austin and Houston right now and that’s quite a disparity for the two cities only being a couple hours away from each ...

Re: OCTOBER 2018 - First Fall Cold Front/Cool & Damp WX
I’m not quite sure how accurate the HRRR model is, but I always see a lot of people talking about it. Anyways, it seems to be keying in on Wharton, Jackson, & Colorado counties this morning.

Re: OCTOBER 2018 - First Fall Cold Front/Cool & Damp WX
There are growing indications that cooler weather will continue into late October. It appears that the next couple of days will end our Summer like pattern as the days grow shorter and Fall fully arrives. Surge in the DP this afternoon. The morning and midday felt great though. Sergio moisture and ...

Re: OCTOBER 2018 - Tracking The Tropics/Fall Cold Front
This upcoming front doesn’t really appear to be cooling off SETX very much according to the Euro. It has us at near normal or slightly above normal temps for next week.

Re: OCTOBER 2018 - Tracking The Tropics/Fall Cold Front
EPAC Hurricane Sergio and its remnants likely will be a wildcard regarding our sensible weather next weekend as it merges with that Fall Cold Front. Over running clouds and possibly mid/upper level moisture and strong fronts can lead to rainfall after the front passes giving us cool and gloomy weat...

Re: OCTOBER 2018 - Tracking The Tropics/Fall Cold Front
I don’t really know what to think of it, but kind of out of nowhere the 12z GFS has a lot of rain for western parts of the viewing area next weekend.

Re: OCTOBER 2018 - Rain Chances Continue
There doesn’t really appear to be any significant weather events across SETX anytime soon besides the possibility of a front mid next week. Most of the rain will be well north of us and east of us. I’m not sure why the rain chances are so high for the early part of next week. I don’t see anything th...

Re: SEPTEMBER 2018 - Very Wet Month Wrap Up
Once again the rain has missed us besides a few sprinkles so far this morning. Just wanted to point out there’s a small pocket of 5-8.5” of rain that has already fallen this morning just to the east of Angleton around the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge.

Re: SEPTEMBER 2018 - Very Wet Month Wrap Up
The Nada/Garwood area which is basically located between El Campo and Columbus off Highway 71 just picked up 3-4” in the last couple hours. That’s about 15-20 min to my northwest. We got sprinkles here and a lot of thunder, but nothing but a trace of rain so far.

Re: SEPTEMBER 2018 -Rain Chances & Fall Front Wednesday Nigh
Still no rain here yet. Still optimistic that will change later this evening though. We’ve just been missing out on all the rain here lately. Sometimes that’s just how it goes.

Re: SEPTEMBER 2018 -Rain Chances & Fall Front Wednesday Nigh
You seem to be in a sweet spot lately for rain. We haven’t really had any measurable rainfall here in about 10 days or so now, but that should change later today.srainhoutx wrote:Nearing 1 inch of rain since 7:00 AM in NW Harris County with some lightning as well.

Re: SEPTEMBER 2018 -Rain Chances & Fall Front Late Next Week
Another 1-2” appear pretty likely this coming week! That’s fine with me cuz all I got the past few days was .15” while some of you others got over 5”. Hopefully this time I’ll get at least an inch.

Re: SEPTEMBER 2018 -Rain Chances & Fall Front Late Next Week
The rain has just been a few miles to the east of me for the past two days and yet there’s another batch of storms that just fired up a few miles east of me yet again.

Re: SEPTEMBER 2018 -Rain Chances & Fall Front Late Next Week
So far we’ve picked up a few sprinkles here. The rain earlier that formed near me and pushed up towards Houston was just about 10 miles to my east, but we managed to get some sprinkles from it lol

Re: SEPTEMBER 2018 -Rain Chances & Fall Front Late Next Week
Im not sure why some are calling this a bust... mesoscale models show storms forming along the frontal boundary as it moves into the metro area this afternoon with the heating of the day. Well I believe for the western 1/3 of the viewing area (especially the sw side) it’s been a bust so far. I’m in...

Re: SEPTEMBER 2018 -Rain Chances & Fall Front Late Next Week
The SW counties of the viewing area have pretty much been dry slotted. Colorado, Jackson, Wharton, & Matagorda counties haven’t seen much of anything from this event.

Re: SEPTEMBER 2018 -Rain Chances & Fall Front Late Next Week
Rain chances pretty much went poof for this weekend especially for those in the western 1/3 of the viewing area. This event looks to be a dud.
