I'm off Galveston Bay they said Hurricane Nicholas wouldn't affect us until the last minute and we got wiped out around here.
I do believe we will see sleet. LOL.

Yup sure is and could and its winter and its hard to get a hold on it.
After last February's disaster (and yes I worked that too) I just say -

I've worked with enough pros in disasters to listen to the pros, and of course we here know that anything can turn on a dime.
I'm just sayin - he's laid out a scenario that will happen and of course mother nature will have her way. We just need to always be prepared.

I did take an awesome photo of a shelf cloud on my way to work in Galveston on Saturday.
Posted it on Twitter and The Weather Channel picked it up along with other mets.

We got many trees down. Street flooding and crazy winds but never lost power. Eye went over us around 3 am
7 inches in nassau bay. Kemah really took a hit

Yup Dr Mu you are correct
here is from travis herzog
Nicholas has taken a jog east and is now paralleling the coast, refusing to make landfall. If this continues, Houston will be spared from flooding.
Either way, it's a rough night along the coast. Winds are gusting 77-81 mph around Matagorda Bay.
