I'm off Galveston Bay they said Hurricane Nicholas wouldn't affect us until the last minute and we got wiped out around here.

I've worked with enough pros in disasters to listen to the pros, and of course we here know that anything can turn on a dime.
I'm just sayin - he's laid out a scenario that will happen and of course mother nature will have her way. We just need to always be prepared.

We got many trees down. Street flooding and crazy winds but never lost power. Eye went over us around 3 am

Nicholas has taken a jog east and is now paralleling the coast, refusing to make landfall. If this continues, Houston will be spared from flooding.
Either way, it's a rough night along the coast. Winds are gusting 77-81 mph around Matagorda Bay.
