Where did you hear that? Looks like Recon is en route per tropical tidbits (Levi's site)
Edit - Srain beat me to it.

Re: July 2020
Recent satellite wind data indicate that a broad low pressure area has formed in association with the tropical wave over the central Gulf of Mexico. However, the accompanying shower and thunderstorm activity is currently poorly organized. Conditions appear conducive for additional development, and a...

Re: July 2020
Getting some good rains here as well in Richmond!
91L is looking better by the second... models have been really bad so far (probably due to less planes flying, etc. etc. maybe?) but there may be some surprises with this if the trend continues

Re: July 2020
Well this will be a week of watching the tropics. Somewhat of an interesting development south of Louisiana as well that looks better on satellite today. Doesn’t look like much will get going with that one, but it is the GoM!

Re: July 2020
I got .09" at my house. I will take every trace I can get and the clouds are a huge relief from the 102 degree heat I have been registering on my weather station the past 5 or 6 days straight.

Re: June 2020
Yeah the HRRR has done a good job showing the boundary location and rain set up most of the day. Looks like it was spot on looking at radar and where the stalled boundary is.

Re: June 2020: Tracking TS Christabol
If I’m not mistaken, didn’t 2011 drought kick of with a storm going in just east of us? Or was it dry before 2011? Remember TS Don in 2011? It was decimated by dry air before it could even make landfall! That was a site to see. But yes, 2011 we saw the entire month of August above 100F. I don’t rem...

Re: June 2020: Tracking TS Christabol
How crazy would it be if Recon gets in there and then the models come out with the recon data and it shifts 500 miles to the west or east! Highly unlikely but that would be bizarre to say the least. I remember Ike was forecast to go up the eastern seaboard, then after a few days up towards the Flori...

Re: June 2020: Tracking TD Christabol
We’ve come a long way since 2005 and the days of the GFDL being a trailblazer. It’s just not the same as it used to be (thankfully). The NHC has been scary accurate the last few seasons. It’s a rare occasion now for things to shift around like they used to. To say the least... I mean heck, Harvey w...
