Re: January 2021

HRRR is a little more aggressive with cold air digging further south quicker. Not a ton of wet bulbing but HRRR shows more than before. We still have a long ways to go with this one. Definitely expecting more changes. Yea always a tricky scenario for these type of events. Luckily surface temps stil...

Cmon winter. We need you this year. You were nonexistent last 3 years. We had a crazy TX/La hurricane sea...

Re: December 2020

Unfortunately, for New Year's Eve, the trough models were indicating would pass through the region later this week looks to become more of a split flow with an upper-level low attached. Even with an upper-level low passing directly overhead with some decent wrap-around moisture, most of the colder a...

Re: December 2020

Beautiful weather across all of Texas today. Pretty much as good as it's going to get around here for this time of the year. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and I look forward to 2021!

Re: November 2020

ECMWF still shows a low of 31 Tuesday morning across the Houston region. The GFS is about 10 degrees warmer, but looking at some skew-T's the environment looks prime for radiative cooling. Light winds and clear skies are going to allow for temps to drop pretty quickly. Dewpoints will probably hover ...

Re: November 2020

Starting to get in range of the TX-tech WRF and some of the other good mesoscale models. Real key for heavy rain will be where the warm front sets up Saturday night.
