Re: January 2021

Probably 1-2 more hours of consistent precipitation west of I-45 and then drizzle/drier air will filter in. Most of this will be out of the region by around midnight.

Radar doesn’t show it getting to the woodlands area. Yet forecast says 80% chance snow. Will we see it?
It's going to be close. Probably those last 1-2 hours of precipitation will be the highest chances for a wintry mix.

The farther south the low goes it will back build with more energy
Not going to really see an increase in moisture, but faster upper-level cooling.

Re: January 2021

I dont see how we have 6 hrs of precip left...its almost gone...maybe I'm missing something Based on radar the dryline is moving at approximately 20mph and is near San Antonio. So we have about 160-200 miles between most of SE Texas and the line resulting in about 5-8 more hours of precipitation.

Probably ending around 11-12 for most of the region. 10PM for regions west of Harris County.

In CS... poring snow
All the posts out of there are incredible with more to come. They could be on the more aggressive side of totals that some of the mesoscale models indicated.

Is the snow line moving to the south and east?
Not much right now but should later this afternoon. Radar shows mostly rain below 8k feet over the immediate region.

Re: January 2021

Looks like 6PM-12AM will be the crucial time period for anyone in Harris County. At that point, the coastal low will be directly south of here, and we will start to see a reduction in warm air advection (WAA) between 800-700mb.
