Re: February Weather -will it be cold or warming trend?

I can't believe they are forecasting 70s for this coming week. I'm all for it but the plants seem to be confused. My Japanese Magnolia is covered in blooms and the grass is still green. The ferns and elephant ear have yet to be affected by the cold either. Most of the tender vegetation is usually fr...

Re: December 2014:Active/Stormy Pattern Developing

[quote="kitkat4me"]But, back to the point, what type of weather and coldness, if even a word, do you expect for Houston. I am trying to figure out what to pack and don't want to pack the wrong thing nor take extra suitcases of clothes if not needed. Any advice would be appreciated.. quote]...

Re: December 2014: Cold Front Monday/Quick Zonal Flow To Fo

So what is the chance for some actual winter weather, say snow, anytime this month? Cold rain and wind is not my idea of a good time weather wise. I know Houstonians can't drive on snow and ice, but hey, they can't drive properly on any day of the year!

So what time will the rain move in tomorrow? I need to fertilize my lawn before it hits!

Re: November 2014: Turning Sharply Colder Sunday

46 here in Bear Creek area but I don't believe it. Luckily we only have 2 plants that have to be brought inside, the rest will just have to fend for themselves and be cut back to the ground come Spring. If you are a plant at my house and can't survive in Houston weather then well, you just have to g...

Re: Thanksgiving weather pattern

I'm sure the Best Buy campers would not enjoy bitter cold, gale force winds and driving rain so lets hope for a little moderation. Sunny and cold would be ideal for me with no north wind. Even a mild day would be nice as well, more like Fall than Winter.

Re: Thanksgiving weather pattern

I don't think we had a freeze in Cypress just yet though we did drag in the plants. The cold north wind died down and there was cloud cover. I'm not a big fan of cold north winds. In the mean time, I'm hoping Thanksgiving will be a bit more moderate. Cold, but not overly so. Alas, I discovered my ca...
