Re: NOVEMBER 2018: Cold & Breezy/Freeze Possible Wednesday

i miss summer. already. I don't know...It was graupelling pretty good when I was running the ATV around taking care of the plants and pipes, but I wouldn't trade that for heat and humidity. On another note - this is what I think of regarding an El Nino winter: upper level moisture from the Pacific ...

I'm bringing the plants in up here at the ranch in SW Washington County and about 10 tiny snowflakes floated by.

Re: NOVEMBER 2018: Chilly Raw WX/Freeze Possible Wednesday

We just had a little hail up here in SW Washington County. Not even enough to find in the grass for sizing, but when you're living in a metal building, the sound is unmistakable.

The clouds have broken nicely up here in Washington County. It's partly cloudy now. Still very windy though.

Re: Update: KHOU Weather Forum IS Back..for now

I agree with most above - a forum structure is the only way I can think of to keep track of the various threads when the news is coming fast. I would definitely contribute. On the other thread on this subject, Andrew suggests that maintaining such a forum could cost $100-200 per month. If that's the...

Re: SEPTEMBER 2018 -Wet Week/Tracking INVEST 95L

I feel for all you soggy folks, but I'm hoping we can wring something out of this system up here in SW Washington county. I've probably received less than 1" since July 4. The cells just keep missing us. I wasn't here for the 2011 drought, but I've never seen our ponds so low.

Re: SEPTEMBER 2018 -Wet Weekend/Tracking The Tropics

I know that you've always got to be careful of what you wish for, but we could sure use copious amounts of rain at my place in southwestern WA County. The last real rain was July 4 and the month of August just dedicated us. Still nothing but light drizzle out of this event. Bring it on!

Re: July 2018: Weekend/Early Next Week Rain Chances

The overnight guidance indicate no significant changes regarding the late weekend/early next week 'Cold Front' and rain chances. A vigorous shortwave upper trough with a rather strong cold front should be pushing into the Central/Southern Plains on Sunday with an attending cold front. Moisture appe...

Re: JUNE 2018: Drying Trend & Summer Heat Returns

Interesting obs: here in SW Washington County, we're on the moisture gradient mentioned in this morning's disco and as seen on the GOES 16 WV loop. Given that, the clouds sure are building nicely (better than yesterday)for it being only 10 am. Hope it brings rain.

Re: JUNE 2018: Heavy Rainfall Possible Through Wednesday

The real heavy stuff just started up here in far SW Washington County (the Greater Greenvine Metropolitan area). We appear to be on the far downstream end of the band that extends all the way down to Matagorda Bay. At least our place is at 425'ASL.

Re: MARCH 2018 - Storm Chances Monday/Gorgeous WX To Follow

The CF just got to Greenvine in SW WA County. Good wind shift with cool, dry air. The convection looks like it'll miss us to the east and west.
Edit: a good cell just blew up to our west headed this way. We can almost always use rain.

Re: FEBRUARY 2018 - Very Progressive Pattern/Roller Coaster

A quick lived storm produced pea sized hail here in Greenvine (SW Washington County). Let me tell you that even very small hail is VERY LOUD in a metal barndominium.

I live in the Energy Corridor and the water is coming my up through the storm drains. Jeff said that the reservoirs released won't raise Buffalo bayou, but it looks like it is. Does anyone know what's going on? Getting a little desperate.
