Re: February 5-11-11 Winter Weather Advisories Issued

I see drier air moving into NTX now.....still some slight EPAC moisture along the front...temps holding at 34F here with plenty of cloud deck might not see the hard freeze as suggested.

Re: February 5-11-11 Winter Weather Advisories Issued

Kinda wonder with the temp dropping as fast as it is will the chill outrace the moisture and ice the roads? Also will the power lines ice over? With the stiff winds predicted for the area along with possible icy lines, I'm concerned about power outages. We work with many of the utility companies. T...

Re: February 5-28, 2011 Discussion: Another Arctic Blast ?

looking at the source region....nothing really eye popping...granted with all the snow pack the air will not modify as much but I dont think we will be as cold as this last week.....Personally I think we are done this year for extreme cold here in SE TX...

Re: February 1-5, 2011 Arctic Blast/Winter Storm Discussion

NWS Houston should launch weather balloons like in Corpus Christi and Lake Charles. That is a 300 mile gap, in which the computer did not pick up the warm layer at 5,000 feet. 4th largest city in the nation and we dont even do balloons....that my friends is not right....but I guess they figure even...
