Re: August 2014 - Showers/Storms Possible To End The Month
So the trough coming down will drag AL98 and the moisture in the Gulf right up to our coast line. I guess it is safe to assume flood watches will need to be issued for tonight-Saturday?

Re: August 2014 - Watching Invest 98L South of Galveston
At this rate we will be extremely lucky to see some measurable widespread rainfall from it. Guess it's on to waiting for next week.

Great. We probably won't get any rain out of this storm at this rate.

Srain,
So if that Euro run verifies, we could be looking at a potential significant flooding situation here?

Re: May 2014, Flash Flood Watch to the NW of Harris County
What are the odds this ends up being a little further South and East? Let's say Houston Metro area wash out? That WV is quite concerning. If that trough digs a little further south than predicted, could it be a flooding problem here?

Re: March: Winter Weather Advisories/Warning Issued
Some pretty loud thunder here as well. Winter Storm Warnings should be issued to Fort Bend I would think. This is going to be an interesting night if the rain doesn't warm the surface. Wow so unpredictable.

Re: March: Winter Weather Advisories/Warning Issued
I am thinking around 11 or so, closings "might" be initiated. They may wait until 4-5 am though also. I agree with biff given the past few events didn't produce as intended, they may be a little skeptical to close down schools, business, courts and etc. I am a little curious though that no...

Re: March: Wind Chill Advisory & Wintry Mischief Possible
You really think HGX will issue a winter advisory? It's down to 41 at my house in Sugar Land (about a mile west of the airport) and it drizzling. The wind is howling.srainhoutx wrote:Down to 38F and still dropping in NW Harris County.

Re: February: Active Weather Week/Pattern Change Next Week
The question is, will there be enough moisture with this system to saturate the lower levels to enable the precip to make it to the surface and will the temps be cold enough? I don't see it happening but a surprise would be nice.

Re: February: Active Weather Week/Pattern Change Next Week
I have a feeling it will be further North of Houston area. It will probably be rain rather than a mix of frozen precip if it even makes it to the ground. We are dry slotted right now so I would think it would take quite a bit of moisture to fall before it starts getting to the surface.

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Warning/Adviso
WX201, that mid/upper level moisture is associated with that upper low over Mexico. There is a tap of Eastern Pacific moisture that is ejecting E into Texas. Sleet continues here in NW Harris County albeit light at this hour. So question...as that moves East, does it tap any additional Gulf moistur...

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Warning/Adviso
Winter advisory keeps getting extending. I wonder what the HGX office will say after seeing the moisture out west starting to build. Should be an interesting discussion.
