Re: March: Winter Weather Advisories/Warning Issued

Woke up for something and decided to check in. I don't hear anything outside......although the radar shows purple all over the area. Is it over or is there more coming? Or was Spring and the Woodlands skipped over?

Re: March: Winter Weather Advisories/Warning Issued

Stairs have already iced over....as well as the railings. This reminds me of the ice storm in the late 1990s. Am anxious to see what happens overnight.

Re: March: Winter Weather Advisories/Warning Issued

okay, so here's my report.......thunder and lightening....has died down for now. Can't really tell what my temp is at my house.....KHOU weather caster shows 31. And a humorous side note - on the app it shows "snow" for the next hour!! Not sure if what I heard falling was sleet or not.

Re: March: Winter Weather Advisories/Warning Issued

This is setting up to be an interesting event that seems to be unfolding quite earlier than models predicted across Central and SE TX. This could really end up being a significant winter event for some folks. Be safe everyone! That's what I was thinking......the previous events may have been "...

Re: March: Winter Weather Advisories/Warning Issued

I looked at them - it looks like it might just "skirt" Spring and Woodlands......or am I looking at it wrong.

Re: March: Winter Weather Advisories/Warning Issued

I've been keeping up to date all day long but now just had a chance to post. Needless to say, was very surprised at how cold it got last night. Sadly I lost my geranium - as did my sister. I have a feeling this may be THE storm.....all those others were just "warnings" or precursors to wha...

You might try downloading KHOU's WeatherCaster app. It might be hard to get the exact temp through an app - although the Weather Caster comes close.

Re: March: In Like A Lion. Slight Risk Severe Storms Sunday

what might be the timeline for these possible severe possible storms? Plan to ride it out at the parents' house. :o Where are you located? ATTM areas northeast of Houston stand the best chance of seeing severe storms. I am in The Woodlands area - so are the parents. About 10-15 miles south of Conro...

Re: March: Wet Start

well I was going to post that I listened to Brooks at 4 and he mentioned some abnormal temps for the 3/6-3/10 time frame - prolonged cold I believe is what he said.....but I see there is already some chatter. Right now, I am listening to the sound of a nice moderate rain shower...

Re: February: Slight Warm Up With Fog & Fast Zonal Flow

As Srain posted before, while spring like temps look to hang around for now, another pattern change COULD soon be on the horizon. Towards the end of February the Euro is picking up on some serious ridging building north into the Pacific towards the Aleutian Islands. Now the GFS is now suggesting a ...

Re: February: Shallow Artcic Front/Wet & Wintry WX Threat

i haven't heard it doing anything outside here in Spring. We still have a couple of weeks of February - after this warm up do we see any more cold coming our way? Just trying to delay the inevitable - the hot humid weather that's not far away. :)

Re: February: Shallow Artcic Front/Wet & Wintry WX Threat

DP said just the far northern counties have a winter weather watch and chance of ice. What are the chances for Mont. Co.? Are they again being conservative with how low the temps will go?

Re: February: Weekend Warmup/Cold Front & Rain Chances Next

I know we've all had our share of winter (don't get me wrong - I enjoy the cold weather); after this week, is there any chatter or indication there may be more - towards the end of the month?

Re: February: Active Weather Week/Pattern Change Next Week

just got an alert on phone that NWS issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Montgomery County. While this is most likely a precaution, it does show that temps are going to fall. Brrrr!

Re: February: Active Weather Week/Tracking 3 Winter Storms

I was talking to my mom about the 1973 rare snow storm (I was just a tot). And she mentioned another snow event in the very early 1990s. Just curious, when might that have been. It wasn't just a dusting according to her.

Re: February: Pattern Change & Stormy Weather Returns

Frank Billingsly (sp?) gave a teaser of a potential "round 3" and a "frigid February." I didn't see his forecast as I had to leave before it came on. Any thoughts?
