Re: August 2020: Tracking Laura
This is almost angering. Too early to make this call - from the Space City Weather guys - this may come back to haunt them: I think we can safely rule out a landfall near Freeport or the San Luis Pass, which would be the absolute worst case scenario for Houston and Galveston. However, a landfall an...

Re: JANUARY 2018 - Winter Storm Warning/Advisory For Tuesday
Sorry if this was asked earlier, what is missing in the mix for the sleet/icy mix to turn to actual snow? The reason we are seeing more of a sleet mix than snow is because there is a small warm nose aloft. Meaning the cold air is very dense here at the surface, but up a few thousand feet the temper...

I just hope it doesn't make people non-reactive when a SERIOUS couplet forms and it's a real, big tornado... It's scary night for folks who don't know this stuff is radar-indicated and could be a funnel cloud. It's obviously impossible to say if a twister is going to be bad, but many of these are w...

Re: December-Tracking The Christmas Winter Storm
Merry Christmas all! Heading to Albuquerque from Tomball tomorrow morning - route is through Lubbock and Clovis. Any advice on when best to leave and what we might run into? Appreciate all the posts thus far as always!
