Re: April 2024
Models are trending weaker with ridging over Mexico & the Gulf, and are now showing more precip in SE Texas next week than earlier runs. This may cause the subtropical jet to orientate further south in the state.Allowing disturbances to move over Central & East/Southeast Texas next week.We'll...

Re: April 2024
We had snow this afternoon across our higher elevations with a mix of rain and snow at the house. More cold expected late next week. That probably spells a severe weather potential across portions of Texas. You must be at a very high elevation cuz it’s not supposed to snow that far south in mid Apr...

Re: April 2024
CAM's or Short-term models didn't do a good job at all with initializing these severe thunderstorms off to the northeast of the Houston area now... COD-NEXRAD-HGX (1).png I think this poorly modeled convection I alluded to last night contaminated the warm sector under the Moderate Risk earlier than...

Re: April 2024
Storm reports locally. Could have been worse, looks like the moderate tornado risk to the east of us isn't panning out also which is good news. 😉 Cabbpture.PNG Capdture.PNG I’ve noticed a lot of the risks for severe weather aren’t really panning out. Not that I’m complaining, just something I’ve no...

Re: April 2024
Not a surprise at all that a tornado happened in Katy last night. When i saw the velocity couplet last night on radar i was scratching my head wondering why HGX only had a severe thunderstorm warning on it.
