For me it was the 1997 ice storm and Tropical storm Frances.We woke up to water entering our house the morning after Frances made landfall. We had to be rescued,being a kid at the time I thought it was fun lol.

I honestly think the damage locally was worse than from Ike.Trees and power lines/poles are down everywhere and massive trees have went through several roofs in the Heights area.Many of these trees survived Ike but did not survive this storm. Unfortunately there are reports of 4 deaths from the storm today. The damage across the city is insane. There are buildings that had complete wall failure.

It really was like being in a hurricane eyewall. I don’t usually get scared of the weather but I had to go into an interior room because it was getting legitimately scary.

So much for Matt Lanza… This is by far the strongest winds I’ve ever seen outside of Hurricane Ike. There is damage EVERYWHERE the scariest situation I’ve been in weather wise.

Also, just looking at satellite and radar, I do see a potentially very heavy rain/training event setup further south than the excessive rainfall maps. Houston metro needs to keep a watch.
