Re: February Weather. Snow/Sleet/Ice/Winter Storm Warning
I would bet every school and college will be closed tomorrow. Today...who knows...I can see an early dismissal.... I don't. Believe the main event will come long after the kiddos are home today. Heck, the suns almost wanting to break through the clouds over Friendswood. They better do some serious ...

Re: February Weather. Arctic Blast/Snow/Ice/Winter Storm Wa
Hey, I was wondering if you knew if there was a sort of list of the average temperature at the beginning of snow events in Houston? Don't know about that, but I do remember quite a few snow events here and in south Louisiana over the past 50 years, and temps now and tomorrow will start out colder t...

Re: February Weather. Arctic Blast/Snow/Ice/Winter Storm Wa
It does usually seem that way. I was just trying to set some members at ease who were worried about temps tonight not falling as fast as predicted earlier. No problems with that. Also, the layer of cold air is deep. Hey, I was wondering if you knew if there was a sort of list of the average tempera...

Re: February Weather. Arctic Blast/Snow/Ice/Winter Storm Wa
For what it's worth the 09 snow event started with temps in the upper 30's to near 40 I believe, and we all know how that turned out! ;) When it snows, it is not that cold I found. After the snow, it is cold. It does usually seem that way. I was just trying to set some members at ease who were worr...

Re: February Weather. Arctic Blast/Snow/Then More Arctic Co
Is it looking more like this event may start out as Freezing rain or sleet and then transitioning to snow? Or is it looking like more of a snow event? Thanks!

Re: February Weather. Severe Threat/Arctic Blast/Then Snow?
I noticed that the NWS forecast for my area now has up to a tenth of an inch of ice along with snow forecasted for my area. Does it look like this may start out as sleet then transition to snow for the pearland area?
