Re: February 2021: Arctic Outbreak/Winter Storm Warning ⚠️

Gonna be an epic event. I haven't experienced cold like this since I lived in Michigan in the 80's and 90's. Stay off the roads and keep warm. Remember to use those space heaters responsibly and don't use generators inside. Unfortunately, there are some that don't heed these warnings until it is too...

Re: August 2020: Tracking Laura

I just went outside here in Atascocita to bring in Patio chairs and it seem very still and quiet and eerie , no birds and my neighbors dog did not even bark or come out his house. He normally comes running and barking at the gate. Nature knows!!! I noticed the same thing when i went outside earlier.

Re: August 2020: Tracking The Busy Tropics

For Rita I think I had one rain band come through and that was all .... For Ike I was in Sugar Land and that was a rough night of no power, winds and rains knocked down fences and trees. Power was out for over a week in areas of my neighborhood but luckily our power came back within a day as it was ...

Re: August 2020: Tracking The Busy Tropics

18z GFS obliterates Marco on approach to Louisiana and moves what's left to the w. A small margin of error is making a huge difference in landfall location. The models have been like a drunk handling a firehose... LOL   That's the best analogy I've heard about the models in a long long ti...

No rain gauge here but we had some good downpours for the lawn and trees here. Gusty winds as well. Much needed.

Re: MAY 2019: Active WX Week Ahead. Storms/Heavy Rains

Had flashbacks to Harvey yesterday afternoon through today. Numerous cars stalled and in the median along Settlers Way in Sugar Land. Our subdivision and many others flooded due to the Levee District closing the gates to the Brazos as it was already running high. Needless to say, been at home all da...

I for one am happy to see the sun. It's been far too cloudy and miserable for the last month or so. Gotta love or hate that noisy sub-tropical jet!!!

Re: FEBRUARY 2018 - Roller Coaster WX To End February

I drove through an absolute torrential downpour between Tomball and Beltway 8 on 249 between 2:30 and 3:15 AM. Could not see a thing!!! So much precipitable moisture for these storms to work with.

Re: August 2017: Tracking Harvey/Catastrophic Flooding/Torna

Had a nice reprieve earlier today here in Sugar Land .... this morning went and checked on my neighborhood and had spotty street flooding in the Settlers Park Subdivision but none into any homes. Had 18+ inches in the 48 hours ending at around noon. With that said, the rain band is now setting up a...
