Re: October 2015 - Heavy Rainfall/Coastal Low/Flash Flood Li

Little over 2.1" here in League City. Personally think the 2 distinct lows are slowly converging but remnant of Patricia is moving farther East and faster offshore than forecast. Front is into the Gulf over South Texas and believe will assist keeping the low more offshore and ending significant...

Re: March: Wind Chill Advisory & Wintry Mischief Possible

Morning from League City as well. We dropped below freezing at 4:45 this morning and riding at 31.6. Amazing how models underestimated the cold associated with this system! I agree that indeed winter wx advisories may go up as early as this morning for parts of the Metro area. Much higher QPF's and ...

Re: February: Shallow Artcic Front/Wet & Wintry WX Threat

Checking in at 44 in League City with a nice band of much needed rain moving in from the S/West. Bring on the water!! I don't see evaporate cooling making a big difference as opposed to the last few events, at least this far South in the CWA.

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Warning/Adviso

Mixture of light snow and sleet still at Hobby airport. No accumulations on anything above ground here, except for some sleet buildup on some windshields there and there.

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Warning/Adviso

Morning from Hobby airport...temp 32 and light to moderate sleet/sleet pellets with some freezing rain. Nothing sticking as yet to any above ground surfaces, but not far from doing so I believe.

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Warning/Adviso

Event 2.jpg 700 Mb moisture/RH and transport looks conducive for mid-level moisture/over-running tied back to the Pacific low. Big question, will the warm nose be present? I don't think models will be "fed" any local balloon launches, but might, with analysis of the pro's here, be able to...

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Warning/Adviso

Does anyone have a map/maps to post that show where the ice, freezing rain/snow lines could be for Harris County? Please and thank you. WPC has these maps: Snow accumulations - http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/pwpf/wwd_accum_probs.php?fpd=24&ptype=snow&amt=1&day=2&ftype=probabilities Fr...

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Watch Issued

I'd plan on staying HOME on Tuesday. The freezing rain and sleet should begin by sunrise and road conditions should deteriorate through the morning. By late morning the roads may become impassible. Sleet and snow is likely during the afternoon, making the roads even more treacherous as temps fall i...
