Re: December 2019: Beautiful Weather to Start December

Umm, you boys in Texas need to take a look at the 18Z GFS..... Over 48 hours of ice/sleet in Oklahoma and nearing 3 inches of ice in north Texas, including Dallas? Ha! Let's absolutely hope that doesn't verify. 850mb temps barley go below freezing past OK/TX border. No frozen precipitation down her...

Re: December 2019: Beautiful Weather to Start December

While it's just two days into meteorological winter, and under three weeks till true winter... don't look for any 'winter-like' conditions at least through the middle of the month. Pattern looks rather quiet with a +PNA, -EPO and somewhat of a neutral/- NAO. Those conditions keep the weather here in...

Re: November 2019: Begins With A Cooler/Progressive Pattern

Chilly start to November out there this morning. Had frost on my vehicle in Katy. Needed to defrost the windshield a bit before driving to work. Bush dropped down to 36 while Hobby dropped down to 37. Places to our N and W briefly dipped below freezing. Caldwell dropped down to 29. What's more surpr...

Re: October: Chilly Halloween Outlook

Models continue to bring the front in much quicker. NAM brings it through Wednesday morning while the GFS has it pushing through Wednesday night. Also interesting to add the 00z NAM have our neighbors to the W and SW getting their first freeze Friday morning. Halloween looking chilly, high only reac...

Re: September 2019 - Gulf Moisture Returns/Tracking TS Karen

Karen has a lot of obstacles to get through and overcome. Wouldn't lose sleep watching every model run. IF Karen can make it past PR into the southeastern Bahamas/Southern Atlantic, then I'll start giving it more attention. Meanwhile, it's almost October and I'm sadly not seeing any major support fo...

Re: September 2019 - Imelda Remnants/Calmer WX Ahead

What a difference 24 hours can make across the area. Most roads and freeways are usable this morning except for a few isolated areas. One major location shut down is the I-10 East Freeway near Channelview due to some major damage underneath the overpass due to barges that escaped on the San Jacinto ...

THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 6.92 INCHES SET IN 1979. THIS IS NOW THE WETTEST DAY IN SEPTEMBER, BREAKING THE OLD RECORD OF 7.73 INCHES SET ON S...

Re: September 2019 - Imelda Weakens. Flash Flood Watch/Heavy Rainfall Threat

Buffalo Bayou now out of its banks. Watching for more storms firing to the NW, might see a resurgence of another feeder band develop... 2220.png And this is with both Addicks and Barker Dam flood gates closed. Good news in that both Addicks and Barker are well within their reservoirs. No plan to re...
