Re: August 2022

We can analyze the heck out of the daily regime... but when harking back to 2011 we all know that drought begets drought... only broken by a very big tropical surge of some form. When we see the daily drift of rich moisture moving our way from Louisiana, only to go poof at the border... it's obviou...

Re: August 2022

August 1st is here! Hopefully this means wetter weather for us. Actually, temperatures are much cooler than they were a month ago. I'm starting to think we may (fingers crossed) have passed the worst of summer. Average highs will start to decrease in a few weeks (woohooooo)! On another note, I have...

Re: August 2022

Supposedly there’s been a constant weakness over the SE all summer so that’s a big reason why they think it’ll be more active over there. The plains ridge won’t hold through the whole month of September. I agree. It often weakens in late August too. The highest chance of Texas getting hit is from a...

Re: August 2022

A bit off topic but l just learned that I lost a close friend to stage 4 brain cancer today, it just goes to show that we may complain about how miserable the weather here is right now, you cant a day for granted, weather for me at least provides a distraction from grief, and thats why i enjoy bein...

Re: August 2022

Jasons2k exactly, im seeing so many people on social media calling this season a bust, heck id say the real hurricane season hasnt even started yet,boy are those folks in for a surprise The average first hurricane doesn't even form until August 11. I think that calls should not be made about season...

Re: August 2022

Over on Storm2k 57 is saying there will be more of a threat to the NE Gulf this year and less of a threat to Texas. Don’t know how you could say that though but from what I know about 57 is that he’s usually not too high on Texas having much of anything. Imo, it's way too early to say we have less ...

All I can say is that there is no easy path to the top 3 in the SEC West.

Re: August 2022

They have a great coach now with Mike Leach. They never should have run him out of Lubbock. Leach discovered at Wash St. that the pirate offense is even more fun when the team can also play defense. Miss. St. is my sleeper team in the SEC. They could finish in the Top 3 in the SEC West. This warms ...

Thank you! One thing I forgot to mention is that snow happens way more frequently in Starkville so if I have some exciting winter weather, I will be sure to share!

Re: July 2022

My brother-in-law drove into Amarillo today. Sent me a photo of the Amarillo sign and there was green grass all behind it. Then he sent me this…in Amarillo!! I'm in "believe it when I see it" mode, but the GFS and Euro are both trending a lot wetter over the next 10 days. 12z Euro shows w...

It’s 5:38 and the radar scope is almost clear. Pathetic. Well off to another week of hell. Maybe next weekend we’ll finally see something.
Yep. 25% of my grass at the farm is dead now. It's only going to get worse until it finally rains.

Re: July 2022

Some hope on the horizon. Models are showing the strongest ridging to shift next weekend towards the Ohio River Valley. As a result, the flow would become easterly and should give us a higher risk of storms. The Euro and GFS both show this happening. Of course, one negative factor could be tropical ...

Here is the 6z GEFS. Obviously this is too far out, but it is picking up on better conditions soon. Also, not liking the locations.

Yeah and August is really hard to predict. You pretty much have to flip a coin due to the tropics.

Re: August 2022

The latest noaa august outlook is not very encouraging…..☹️😒😞😞 No way they can possibly know because all it takes is for one storm to get into the Gulf and the ridge to be in the wrong place and the outlook will be different. Although this would be unlikely until the middle or end of the month to o...
