Re: January 2024

I don’t think the models are not handling the cold air well. I think most of the model runs are coming in warmer than they should and as the cold shots are coming, it will be going over freshly laid snowpack in the northern half of the US.

Re: 2023 Hurricane Season Discussion

It truly is demoralizing to see a system make landfall to the south of us with so much moisture, absolutely depressing Our time will come and when it does we will probably get too much rain all at once. It just right now we have to endure the worst Heat/Drought period we have seen in our lifetime.

Re: 2023 Hurricane Season Discussion

I mean their really isnt much reason to talk about this, impacts will be virtually zero in SE Texas, this system will likely not make landfall any further north than corpus, so we arent getting jack from this, next! Model guidance is honing in more or just south of corpus, this isnt our system and ...

Re: 2023 Hurricane Season Discussion

I take back what i said, kinda the same as the last run, vorticity maps can be a little confusing to look at sometimes, i am interested to see if the GEFS ensemble is on too something because that was a very sizable shift north at 18z I don’t see how the models can see where the storm is going if t...

Re: 2023 Hurricane Season Discussion

And while we monitor the Gulf, history is being made... I called my aunt who lives in Chula Vista, California which is about 10 min from the Mexican Border and she said it has never flooded there. She does not get out as much but I don’t think they understand that it is rare to see this type of sti...

Re: 2023 Hurricane Season Discussion

I am not a professional met, I am just Wxman 57's gardener, but I would think with the rising PWATS (2.0 and above), the unstableness from the Gulf and the tropical training effect, this could be widespread in a large area. That being said, I do think Mr. 57 is right on the money. A more concentrat...

We just need rain. I really don’t want the other features that comes with a Hurricane or Tropical Storm. A lot of rain would be greatly appreciated. My yard will rejoice.

Re: May 2023

Just the fact that it wasn’t supposed to rain Sunday should tell us that it’s hard to know what to expect. Seeing high amounts on some of the mesoscale and HI RES model is a concern

Re: January 2023

imarge1.png That is about as close as it gets to being in a freezing rain storm or flooding rain possibly in Houston although I would take the ice so I could be off from work for a day. We would need tropical storm ish type rain to shut down the area with just rain. I would take 2021 but without th...

Just for some clarification, I am in Spring,Texas and even though we shouldn’t see any Wintery precipitation, my forecasted low temperatures have decreased into the mid 30s today vs 2 day ms ago when it was supposed to remain in the 40s for lows.

Re: January 2023

Yep,models are coming in even colder tonight,if the trend continues parts of SE Texas may need to be put under a winter weather advisory or warning. If it is indeed the case that the models have underestimated this cold air, that would be crazy. It just like today where we were placed under a flash...
