This is great summer weather for Texas. Reminds me of Florida. Everything is lush and green.

Re: July 2024

We got exactly .50" of rain here this morning.

Also the wind shift/outflow has pushed well offshore and stretching over to Del Rio. We’ll have to look for something else as a focus if anything is able to redevelop later this afternoon.

Re: July 2024

We just spent 5 days in Southwest Austin. It’s a great place to live if you can afford it. I’m allergic to cedar so I can only take so much. We enjoyed our visit. And the electricity. No place on earth has more allergies than College Station. I just take a 24 hr non-drowsy pill in the morning, spra...

Looks like Beryl decoupled at it crossed into Montgomery County earlier. Things are slowly starting to wind-down here.

Starting to really crank here. Starting to remind me of Ike conditions. Lost power awhile ago.

Re: Hurricane Beryl

Hey gang. Good morning, got some solid rest after a long day. Somehow I still have power. I see Beryl is arcing more NE now. This played-out pretty much like I expected although I had expected Beryl to start winding-up a little sooner. That dry air was a killer and it was still very spread out. Othe...

Re: Hurricane Beryl

Everything fully stocked-up here and vehicles all got topped-off today. We’re as ready as can be. My Aunt from Florida is visiting. Her 7:15am flight was moved. She’s about to have a wild finale!

NWS had raised my rain chances to 70% today. I was banking on not having to water anything but it looks like it may stay south of me.

Re: Hurricane Beryl

Lots of folks texting me if we don’t need to worry anymore and what I think now.

My reply out:

About the same. I'm thinking Matagorda-Sargent. Cat 2. May make a last minute run at a major still. Depends on how quickly Beryl can rebuild its core.

Re: Hurricane Beryl

Just texted friends in Galveston to get ready and plan for the first floor to be flooded-out. This is a scenario I feared, and on a holiday weekend. Just wow.

Re: Hurricane Beryl

I think this storm is headed towards Corpus. South Texas Storms agrees with you. ( another Houston pro met). It is looking like that or a little north or south He is a trusted forecaster. No hype. The curve/shape of the coast while Beryl is getting pulled by the trough is going to make this tough. ...
