Re: January 2025
Admittedly, I haven't gone back through the posts to see if my question may have already been answered. So, forgive, if it is a repeated subject. I would like to know if there is any historic/documented evidence to support the idea that the years we get Hurricane's are the years we also get Snow? Ma...

Re: January 2025
Kind of "refreshing" outside, this morning! While I have enjoyed the comfortable weather so far, this winter; I am hoping we might get just a little bit of "fun" stuff for the end of the week. Not looking for anything Grid threatening! Maybe, just a small snowman? Our kids (grand...

Re: November 2024
I'm hoping for not-so-Arctic weather on Friday (11/29/24). We're having our Thanksgiving dinner, that day @1:00pm. It is an outside affair, with seating for 30 on the Barndominium porch. So far, it seems manageable for sweaters and light jackets....Just the way Thanksgiving should be! Happy Thanksgi...

Awfully quiet, in here, with something brewing in the Gulf. Everybody must be outside enjoying this first taste of Fall. It is absolutely perfect outside!

Re: Hurricane Beryl
Lost power in New Waverly, around 10:00 am. Our little 1 "stop light" town got hit pretty hard. Completely tore the roof off of our Auto Supply store, snapped light poles, LOTS of trees down. But, we live in the National Forest, so I guess the trees are to be expected. Overall, me and my f...

Re: September 2022
Hallelujah, it's September! Even if the temperatures might still be hot, and the rainfall minimal, there's a distinct change of mood on this Day. The shadows are casting longer. Hope begins for that first slight taste of Fall. I wait for this day, every year. Now, I can put the dreaded endless days ...

Re: August 2022
DoctorMu and Stratton20, I feel your pain. I am about 75 miles East & slightly South of You. It has been a long time since the grass has been crunchy. I live on acreage, with a water well. We don't water the grass. We worry about the Well running dry, in times like these! My property actually ba...

Re: August 2021: Watching the NW Caribbean/Western Gulf
I texted my Son-in-Law, last night, and told him he probably should get his generator in running order (gasoline powered - appliances only). I also checked in with my Brother, who lives in Deer Park. He had ordered his Generac "whole house" generator after the big Freeze, in February. They...

Re: August 2021
My Daughter is in downtown Boston. Her and co-workers decided to check in to Hotel, yesterday, vs driving from Pawtuckett, RI today. Their conference starts tomorrow. So far, so good. I know the next several hours will be "interesting" for her! I appreciate all the replies to my post a cou...

Re: August 2021
Good Evening All, I have been watching Fred, and of course Grace. I had heard a few mentions of Henri; but, really wasn't paying attention to a system so far removed from us. This afternoon it suddenly hit me: my Daughter is leaving for Boston, tomorrow afternoon. This is a working trip, with a coup...

Re: April 2021
Yesterday was such a gorgeous Spring Day! I had errands to run, and decided to have my truck cleaned up, while I was out. The car detail shop was packed! As I was waiting, the Weather Channel was playing on the TV in the lobby. They were discussing how this weekend was a very boring pattern for most...

Re: February 2021: Arctic Outbreak/Warmup Begins
Week before last, I was about to call a plumber for a minor plumbing issue, that has been ongoing for a few months. Nothing serious, more of an annoyance. I guess that call will wait! I have some Pampas Grass that my late husband had planted, just prior to his passing. I'm not sure if those plants w...
