Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
We have a lemon out in the far Atlantic. On April 24th. No, this will not be a retired storm. No, it will not affect any landmass that I can foresee. Yes, this is immensely concerning. Have we had April/May areas of interest before? Yes. Have we had named storms in April/May before? Yes. Have they c...

Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
Hurricane Discussion 2024 When Matt Lanza (who I respect immensely) buys into the hype, just about everyone else should, too. Isn’t he usually conservative? He definitely errs on the conservative edge of prognostications. He is about as "anti-hype" as anyone out there......he's usually th...

Re: April 2024
My first weather event was experiencing the eye of Hurricane Danny in 1986 in Vermilion Parish, LA as a 6yr old. We stayed at home and I was mesmerized by the event. I've been through several hurricanes since (including Katrina in NOLA). As far as wind goes, the worst I've experienced was Lili in Ab...

Re: April 2024
Cpv17 Has nothing to do with that at all, for me personally severe weather has never really been a passion of mine, tornado went through my town, lost water for 6-8 hours, yeah i think anyone would take a nice long break from wanting any thunderstorms around, personally i could care less about the ...

Re: April 2024
Wind was really impressive.....felt like a strong tropical storm there for a bit. Lost several limbs, but no other major damage. Limbs/branches down in a lot of places in League City. At one intersection on FM 96 on my way to work, the wind turned a metal traffic signal apparatus by about 30 degrees.

Re: April 2024
I know everyone here already knows this, but Guys and gals, make sure your emergency notifications are turned on on your phones. I have mine on and physical weather radio right next to the bed. Dogs are already sleeping under my bed. Poor gals.
Stay safe.

Re: April 2024
If you live south of 59 and I-10, decent chance you might not get anything. Should nickname the area between Houston and Galveston "Dry Gulch!" Galveston and areas north of here have received far more rain the last few years. We get a system or 2 that holds together, but usually just an o...

That cell currently (2:59pm CDT 4/8/2024) over Lake Livingston/Onalaska is the nastiest looking cell I've ever seen up close on Weather Underground's Wundermap
Holy Hell, I hope they're ok over there.

Re: April 2024
It’s starting to look like a vast majority of the month of April will be a wet one for us here in the Houston metro area. I’m fine with this.
