Re: April 2020

I still have hope being in far northwest Cypress but every model busted big time on this one so far. Timing is way off, today was supposed to be storms all afternoon into the evening and here we are with a radar that’s about 10 hours behind the models. Hopefully it comes together and pushes into th...

Re: March 2020

I understand the weather Apps and local weathermen go off of the models and they update per run but how is there a continual 70-80% chance for so many hours all last night and today and yet as soon as i woke up this morning you could see if was a thin line that would pass by in 15 minutes. It seems...

Re: January 2020: Unsettled WX Week Ahead/Strong Cold Front Saturday?

This has to be one of the grossest feeling January mornings I’ve ever felt. Last night felt like mid June as I sweated away in my garage.

Re: January 2020: Starting off the new decade cool and wet

Interestingly, my neighborhood finished 2019 with approximately 33.60 inches of rain for the entire year. That's well behind most locations in Harris County with respect to rainfall totals. The rainfall delta across the county is pretty wide. We got just over 34" in Fairfield at my house and t...

Re: December 2019: Warming Trend/Weekend Rain/Christmas Outlook

Every time we have a forecasted chance of rain 3-4 days out it drys up when getting 24 hours out it seems. We could really use some rain amounts measured in inches and not tenths. I really miss strong fronts blowing through bringing a thick line of heavy showers.

Re: November 2019: Begins With A Cooler/Progressive Pattern

Will this cooler/progressive pattern of October continue throughout the month of November? Also, I will also like to bring everyone's attention to the large disparity of rainfall accumulations across Harris County this year. While most sites are normal or well above normal for the year, there are s...

Re: October: Cold Front/Mid Week Warming /Stronger Front Friday

Has the southerly flow kicked in early? I just ran to the store and expected it to be a bit more refreshing but my temp gauge showed 77 and it’s pretty humid. Weather ap shows 70 but I’m not buying it.

Re: October cold front--time for change....

So on Oct 29, 2017 (Harvey year) it got to 35? I sure don't recall that... I don't remember it that way either. I thought it was warm prior to Halloween and a front came through Halloween evening and it rained on us while hurriedly trick or treating and got really chilly right before I watched the ...

Re: October cold front--time for change....

For some reason the wait for this front this years front is really discouraging... I can remember some hot days in October but we have at least had a few days with a nice tease of cooler air.

Re: September 2019 - Imelda Weakens. Flash Flood Watch/Heavy Rainfall Threat

I'd be extremely happy if we could manage to get in on the action even just a little bit this evening/tonight here in Cypress! Sun is out and it is steamy so hopefully that will help. Sitting at .40" to this point. However, I don't want to see the areas already hit hard get pummeled again by a...

Re: July 2019: Typical July Summer Pattern

We had a really strong cell pop up around 6:30 yesterday in Cypress when I thought it had all dried up. Got right at 1" of rain over a 30 minute period. Had a couple minutes of really intense winds as well. The rain was very much appreciated.

We got almost a half inch in cypress. My current temp is way lower than what any of my weather apps are calling for. 57 and supposedly rising later?

Re: FEBRUARY 2019: Coastal Trough & Rain Early Week

I was surprised as well. I know most won't relate but I drove my "race car" that's on drag radials to work today expecting a cool dry day. Hoping I get a solid break in any wet stuff from I10 to 290 on 99 around 5.

Re: FEBRUARY 2019: Warm & Damp Wx. Will It Last?

I don't remember that icing in March of 2014 to save my life. lol That's about as rare as it gets down here. It was about a month and a couple weeks before my wife and I got married. We were getting married at my parents land in Cat Spring an hour west of Houston. They lost so many trees and tree l...

We are approaching 4.5” in Fairfield. As soon as i think we are going to see a break it back builds. Forecasters got this one pretty dang close.
