Re: Invest 98L
Looking at satellite images, it appears that the main center of circulation is just now coming ashore, right at the Texas/Mexico line.

Re: Tropical Discussion 2025
Well, at least we have the Meteorologist in Chief in the White House with a fresh Sharpie, so he can show us where all the storms are going to go for the next 4 years! In all seriousness, though, the NWS Mets and staff have been doing a yeoman's job keeping us aware of the weather, and weather issue...

Re: April 2025
About 1.6" this morning. It got dark, and noisy. We put the thunder shirts on the pups, but were still wearing standard poodles and doodles until the rain stopped!! The standing water in the yard seems to be getting soaked up pretty quickly, though. Hopefully we don't have to run the pumps today.

Re: October 2024
Y’all…..something really weird is going on. I’m in League City and I looked up at the sky and there are these fluffy white things and some of them are even gray. So strange. That’s just the smoke patterns left from the Blue Angel’s demonstration at the Wings Over Houston air show going on at Elling...

Re: Hurricane Beryl
ABC 13 studio lost power about 15 minutes ago and switched to generators. Briefly. Then their broadcast crashed and have gone to the national feed since. Guess they didn't listen to Travis Herzog on the importance of properly maintaining their backup power system.... OR starting it? One of the peop...

Re: July 2024
This was expected. A diffused front coupled with upper air dynamics ( high PWATs and sea breeze) will give us chances all day. We got rain from that while putting up the hurricane screens on Saturday. Came in to wait for it to pass. It hung around for a long time. Got yet more rain while trying to ...

Re: Hurricane Beryl
Was seeing the familiar greenish-blue flashes in the distance that indicate a breaker tripping, or transformer blowing. It finally caught up to us. Generator started about 15 minutes ago.

And don't forget to check those kits every year, especially the first aid kits and battery-powered equipment. We've discovered that the adhesive on 'band-aids' don't like heat-cycling much. We have a first aid kit we take to races with us and the simple act of keeping them in our truck in the parkin...

Re: May 2024
We were going to do an autocross event today up near IAH. When I got up to check the Radarange, it was a big ol' 'Nope!' for us. They postponed the start of the event an hour, then cancelled for safety. We put the race car up, and it was starting to sprinkle on us. Came back in and checked the radar...

Got to see 19 F this morning. Froze the well. The well guys showed up at ~1030 in 30 F to fix it. Made good time, and not-so-expensive fix. Took until 1600 before the water started running in the kitchen. Well’s now covered, and kitchen faucet it dribbling. I HATE cold weather.

Re: January 2023
This weather sucks! 75 with 88 % humidity,🤮🤮🤮 Beats the snot out of what it was like this time last week!! What we had last week was tremendously better. It’s not even close. We had sunny clear blue skies last week at this time with temps in the mid to upper 40’s. We had a couple of frozen pi...

Re: January 2023
Yeah I’m already seeing signs of ridging starting to show up as we head into the second or third week of January. Might be able to repeat the -AO, -NAO, and -EPO all over again. We may not have to wait that long. From what I am seeing the relaxation ends early in the second week of January. Also be...

Re: December 2022
I thought WE had everything completed for this freeze, based on lessons learned and prep in 2021. Unfortunately, we forgot to cover the eve vents along the west side of the house (the side where the kitchen is) and woke up this morning to no water in the kitchen. Been blowing hot air into the kitche...
