Re: March 2020

From just watching the radar loop, it does look like most of the energy is skating northward. Hopefully that trend continues, but who knows what happens as the squall line approaches the coast?

Re: February 2020

Running the AC in february to be able to sleep... :x I'll take that! :D Actually, our house 'leaks' enough that it cools down fairly rapidly at night. Good ol' 1970's building at work again. It does beat the heck out of standing on a ladder in 40-deg, 15-MPH north wind trying to get the citrus cove...

Re: January 2020: Unsettled WX Week Ahead

More and more species of trees are starting to bloom. The maples and elms are starting to leaf out. Early spring this year. Hopefully it will be a prolonged spring of nice weather before we get too hot. .26” of rain so far with more on the way. The sweetgum buds are getting fat, but nothing seems t...

Hopefully the dry weather prevails. I need time to sump out the low spots in the back yard. It would be nice to get things dry enough to mow back there!

Re: November 2019: Cold Front Thursday/Stronger Arctic Cold Front Monday

Latest NWS forecast has a low of 37 for me Saturday morning. I’m going to skip the Imperial Oaks 5k this year. Forget that business!! No way I’m standing around waiting to run a race with temps in the 30’s!! Heh, my wife and I used to run those, but a couple of 5Ks in cold weather put a stop to tha...

Re: October: Strong Cold Front Friday/Rain Chances Next Week?

Solid red line until it gets to my house, then it splits around me. That's what kept happening to us last year! We were having to water things, while our neighbors were slogging through the mud. Currently light north wind here in northern Brazoria Co. Things are VERY humid. 82 deg-F. Wifey currentl...

Re: October: Cold Front/Mid Week Warming /Stronger Front Friday

Has the southerly flow kicked in early? I just ran to the store and expected it to be a bit more refreshing but my temp gauge showed 77 and it’s pretty humid. Weather ap shows 70 but I’m not buying it. It's felt a LOT more humid than the gauges are indicating, in my opinion. Not sure what it is, bu...

Hmm, I seem to remember a fairly cool March AND April. Wet, too. The pups didn't dry out until about July!!

Cooler weather? Yes! Colder weather, like that picture, NO! Enjoyed working in the yard today. Under the trees, into the wind, it was quite pleasant, almost cold. In the sun, the usual oppressive Houston heat.

Re: August 2019: Weekend Rain Chances/Tracking The Tropics

Pretty much the same here. Flash flood warning to the east of the homestead, big t-storm to the south. So far, just a sprinkle. I'm fine with that, though, we've already had about 4" this week. It would be nice not to have to wash the pups black feet off every time they come into the house.

Re: August 2019: Typical Summertime Pattern

I will say a love bug hit my windshield earlier this week. The bastard of the Fall. Luckily, our love bug population has been down, so far this year. The firefly population has been amazing, though. The night before last, after that big rain we had (~2"), the back of our property was lit up li...
