Re: MAY 2020
We had 0.83" in the swamps of Pearland overnight. Luckily, no standing water in the yard when we got up. So that low-level circulation that looks eerily like something Allison-ish that's slowly meandering northeastward just north of the Greater Houston area is definitely going to keep going, ri...

Re: MAY 2020
It seems to me that, for the most part, the models have proven themselves to be not bad, it's just the location of the 'big' weather. As the Mets say, the center of the weather can move north-south, or east-west just a bit to make one place facing floods, and another still in drought. THAT, we've se...

Hopefully, the weather cooperates tomorrow, as the Lone Star Flight Museum is planning a fly-over over the greater Houston area. They're trying to get ~20 vintage aircraft in the flight, depending on availability and clearance from the operators: https://www.lonestarflight.org/public/FttF_FlyOver_P...

Re: MAY 2020
I was going to go out and at least have a look. Didn't hear anything, and was quietly working away when I heard on my radio stream that the fly over was done.

Re: MAY 2020
Looks like we got about a 1/2" between last night and this morning's showers. That's a good thing, since stuff was starting to get dry.

Y’all.....I’m willing - at this point - to trade toilet paper for rain. Please mail any rain to: “Pas Bon, League City, TX” Thanks. Don't you worry. Since it's been so dry, we've scheduled our tractor guy to come out and mow our back lot on Tuesday. Looks like we'll be getting water from that syste...

The rain gauge is showing 0.02" since midnight, but it looks like we got a bit more than that overnight. I'd estimate ~1/4"?

Re: February 2020
Running the AC in february to be able to sleep... :x I'll take that! :D Actually, our house 'leaks' enough that it cools down fairly rapidly at night. Good ol' 1970's building at work again. It does beat the heck out of standing on a ladder in 40-deg, 15-MPH north wind trying to get the citrus cove...

Re: January 2020: Unsettled WX Week Ahead
More and more species of trees are starting to bloom. The maples and elms are starting to leaf out. Early spring this year. Hopefully it will be a prolonged spring of nice weather before we get too hot. .26” of rain so far with more on the way. The sweetgum buds are getting fat, but nothing seems t...
